I just got back from my very short trip to Los Angeles, California, United States of America. I went there to meet up with my dad, who went to New York and then to L.A. It was a very short trip – I spent four days there -, but I feel like I did a lot.
The day I got there, I went to Troye Sivan’s concert!!! It was so so SO amazing. Maybe the best concert I’ve ever been to, no joke (not that I’ve been to too many). I was so close to the stage, I could see him perfectly, hear him – almost – perfectly (I was too close to the big stereos, so sometimes I would only hear the beat) and… FREAKING HALSEY WAS THERE AND SANG WITH HIM. Like, what are the odds that one of my favorite artists would be at one of my other favorite artists’ concert? ALMOST ZERO BUT IT HAPPENED. I will be posting concert footage in my YouTube channel some time soon 😉
But what I actually wanted to talk about was… Los Angeles. Not Troye’s concert (even though I could go on about it forever). For a while now, I’ve been building this aversion against L.A. and, if you ask me, I can’t really explain you why. It’s just not one of my favorite cities. But, don’t kill me yet, I feel like that is because I’ve never truly experienced Los Angeles, with a true Californian, so I didn’t have the chance to fall in love with it like people who live there do.
So, if you live in and/or love California, please let me know the good stuff to do there! This time, as I spent a very short amount of days there, I didn’t do much (specially because I spent half the time with my uncle/cousins that live there, but inside their houses). But, one day, me and my dad took the afternoon (which lead to the night) to just drive and take pictures around the city. This is the result (yes, I am wearing Troye’s concert t-shirt).
I might still have a little thing against Los Angeles, but I cannot deny: they have beautiful places – from walls to landscape – where one can’t not take a picture.
Happy New Year! May this year be amazing, happy, fun, memorable and all good things, right?
I always try to have some resolutions and I like them to be more “materialistic” (like ‘learn how to play the guitar’) than something that I don’t really know what to do in order to accomplish it (like ‘be happier’), you know what I mean? Here are my last year’s resolutions… I think I manage to keep them (also, I forgot I had made that post lol otherwise I’d have made another one near the end of 2014 talking about them)!
So, wither further ado, here they are:
- play the piano (learn new songs)
- learn how to play the guitar
- write more (1 page a week of random prompts?)
- lose weigh
- remember French
- learn a new language
- finish one year of the Q&A
- finish “1 Page at a Time”
- save more money
- change something in my physical appearance (change hair, piercings…)
- read 25 books (in 2014 I read 40 books, but since 2015 is the year I try to get into university, I’d rather tone it down)
- find out what I want to do (career/university)
- get into university
- drink more water
- have a good exercise schedule
- study abroad??? maybe??
I wrote them down in a pretty piece of paper and glued it to my wall in my desk, so I can always look at it. Also, I’ll love to make a post at the end of the year looking back at this and seeing what I was able to accomplish.
Do you have resolutions? What are some of them?
It’s been so long since I’ve written a lot here that I don’t even know anymore what to put as a title haha. But anyways, this semester, I’m being way more active than last one. If you’ve been here for quite a while, you may remember this post where I said I was going to “spring clean” myself and eat healthier and drink more water and do more exercise. Well, I am eating better this year than last one, but I did not do more exercise last semester.
But I can say now, in the middle of September, that I am now. So here’s my routine because if I can do this and not be dead and unmotivated, you can too.
- weight training (sounded better than body building lol) – 5 to 6 pm
- dance – 6 to 7 pm
- (I have to stay in school in the afternoon, so) PE – 3:15 to 4:30 pm
- I usually run in the treadmill for an hour
- same as Monday and Wednesday
I know it may not be a lot for you, but I was not being an active person, so this is something for me. And, of course, changes will not appear in the blink of an eye, but you can actually feel little changes, like being easier to lift 20Kg this week than the one before.
Actually joining a gym made me be more motivated because I’m in a place where everyone is working out (duh), so I just… go with the flow. I don’t know how to explain it, but being surrounded by people who are doing the same thing as you, make you do it. More. And better.
So, yeah, this post was really just to say that I’m not a person you’d think that works out, lift weight etc, but I’m doing it. And enjoying.
