Taylor Swift Book Tag

Hello, everyone!

Today I will be doing a post I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and that is the ‘Taylor Swift Book Tag’. Y’all know I’m crazy about Taylor since forever and I do love books – although I haven’t had read much this year and it’s making me upset – so this is perfect.

I do not know who created this tag, but I saw it on Serendipity. Anyways, let’s get into it!

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – choose a book or series that you were loving, but that later you decided to break up with

“The Immortals” series. Guys, I read it all, but I didn’t want to. I have a really hard time not finishing a series, so I read it, but the last half of it just wasn’t good. It was all more of the same, to be honest.

2. Red – choose a book with a red cover

“Catching Fire” from “The Hunger Games” series? I don’t think I own too many red-covered books.

3. The Best Day – choose a book that makes you feel nostalgic

The “Harry Potter” series ❤

4. Love Story – choose a book with a forbidden love story

“The Mortal Instruments” series. Y’all know I loved this series and during some of the books, Clary and Jace’s love is indeed forbidden… It counts, right? Hah.

5. I Knew You Were Trouble – choose a book with an evil character but that you couldn’t resist and fell in love (or really liked) them

Is Draco evil?… I don’t really know.

6. Innocent (written b/c of Kanye West!) – choose a book someone spoiled the end for you

I usually spoil the end for myself by searching something on Wikipedia or Google. I don’t mind it too much, to be honest, I still want to read it to know how that happens. But sometimes I just want to know if a couple stays together and I find out someone dies. That sucks.

7. Everything Has Changed – choose a book in which the character evolves a lot

Oh, man, a lot of books… But Melina (who owns the blog I saw this tag on) answered this with “Eleanor & Park” and I agree, both of them evolve a lot.

8. You Belong With Me – choose a book you’re excited to be released so you can read it

The 3rd book of “The Fifth Wave” series! If you pay close attention to my blog, you would know I absolutely LOVED the 1st book and the 2nd one was good (but not even close to the first one) and I’m super excited to read the 3rd one!

9. Forever and Always – choose your favorite couple

Too many, gonna list some here: Percy and Annabeth (Percy Jackson), Anna and Étienne (Anna and the French Kiss), Hazel and Gus (The Fault In Our Stars), Aristotle and Dante (Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the Universe)…

10. Come Back, Be Here – choose a book you don’t like lending out of fear of it never coming back

I don’t lend books byeeeeeeeee.

Okay that is it for today and it seems like I’d have answer those questions easily and quick, but no, I had to think more than I thought I needed lol.

Top 5: Books Read In 2014 (2nd Semester)

Hey, everybody!

Will you kill me if I say I had forgotten that I had to do a second Top 5 books that I read last last year? Ops. But after listing my Top 5 ’til July, now I’m listing my favorites from the end of the year. I said it before, but, again: as I’ve read 40 books last year, it would be impossible to choose only 5 🙂

1. The 5th Wave, by Rick Yancey

“After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one. Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.”

I cannot describe how much I loved this book. It gripped me so hard, I couldn’t stop reading and my heart was pumping all the way through. It’s amazingly written, the story is so interesting and it takes a lot of unexpected turns. I felt I was in that world. Loved it.

2. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

“Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.”

This book, oh dear, this book. It was so beautiful. And magical. And lovely. And heart warming. And all things good. It made me laugh, it made me “aww”, it made me cry, it made me happy. It’s adorable without being sappy. Loved it too.

3. Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

“”It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” So begins Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen’s witty comedy of manners–one of the most popular novels of all time–that features splendidly civilized sparring between the proud Mr. Darcy and the prejudiced Elizabeth Bennet as they play out their spirited courtship in a series of eighteenth-century drawing-room intrigues.”

Not going to lie: I was proud to get through this book. But as I’m not lying, I have to say: I really really liked it. Until the middle, I did think it was boring and I didn’t stop because I wanted to be able to say that I’ve read a Jane Austen novel, but when the book gripped me, there was nothing I could do. I read it nonstop wanting to know what happened. You know, classics can be interesting 😛

4. The Blood of Olympus, by Rick Riordan

I chose not to put a synopsis because this book is the last of a series of 10 books, so better not spoil everything. Also, I feel like most of you know what Percy Jackson is about.

Now, being honest, I wasn’t absolutely crazy about this book, but it was a good ending. I’m putting this in the list because of what the series in general meant to me. I love all characters, I love how greek mythology is incorporated, I love the crazy adventures and all that. I read the first 4 books when the fifth one was about to come out and then I read one each year as they were being released. And I loved that journey, so this end meant a lot.

5. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, by Jennifer E. Smith

“Four minutes changes everything. Hadley Sullivan 17 misses her flight at JFK airport, is late to her father’s second wedding in London with never-met stepmother. Hadley meets the perfect boy. Oliver is British, sits in her row. A long night on the plane passes in a blink, but the two lose track in arrival chaos. Can fate bring them together again?”

I need to include a sappy romantic silly book, okay? Don’t judge me. I read this in a matter of hours and I did have an amazing time. Is it all those things I described it as? Yes. But it’s not completely stupid lol if you know what I mean. It’s a good cute book that you can read in a day and believe in love.

Bonus: Across The Universe series, by Beth Revis

“A love out of time. A spaceship built of secrets and murder.  Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. Never could she have known that her frozen slumber would come to an end fifty years too soon and that she would be thrust into the brave new world of a spaceship that lives by its own rules.”

I felt the need to add this series because, as much as it isn’t on my Top 5, it was amazing and I read all of it in a week or less (3 books, by the way). At some parts I did get annoyed at the characters and, therefore, at the author, but, in general, I really enjoyed these books. Good dystopian-young-adult books, guys.

Okay, this is it for today’s post. Hope you enjoyed it!

See you next time,

My Night Routine (after a school day)

Hi, everyone!

Today I bring you my night routine! I’ve never done anything like this, but I always watch these videos on YouTube so I thought it would be fun to make a post about mine. Here we go:

IMG_1315First thing I do, after getting some lunch (I get home from school at 1pm), is get my hair up. I don’t know what it is about it, but it makes me feel better and it’s part of the routine now.

IMG_1318Then I take off the makeup I had for the day (usually only foundation, concealer and powder) with Bioderma, which I just bought and am already in love with.

IMG_1323I then proceed to doing my homework because I like to be productive, but tbh I stay around 2 hours with a Word document open, for example, but only work on it for 30 minutes. I get too distracted by the internet and there’s nothing I can do about it.

IMG_1322But, after I’m done with my homework, I can go on the internet without any guilt. I watch a lot of YouTube videos (in the picture, I’m watching the footage I got from the Ed Sheeran concert I went in London), go on blogs, waste time on Facebook and go on Tumblr.

IMG_1852I basically do nothing until dinner time and, after it, I take a shower and put on my pijamas (aka my favorite part of any day). One thing I forgot to say before: I’m not one of those who get home and change into extremely comfortable clothes, I just don’t care about it. Of course, if I’m wearing a terribly uncomfortable one, I’ll change, but it usually doesn’t bother me.

IMG_1853Skincare time! I wash my face with the Neutrogena Clear Pore cleanser (which you can use as a mask too), tone it and then moisturize it with the Adcos products. Tbh I don’t know if there are Adcos products outside of Brazil, but they did wonders to my skin since I started using them.

IMG_1854After that, I’ll brush my teeth, use a lip balm (this one is a EOS one), take off my contacts and put on my glasses.

IMG_1855After that, I lay in bed and read a book (or the option below). This one is ‘The Infinite Sea’, by Rick Yancey, the sequel from ‘The 5th Wave’. I loved the first one from the series and am enjoying this one so far.

IMG_1856Or I’ll watch some Netflix if I’m not in the mood for reading. Right now I’m watching ‘Suits’ and it’s amazing! I’m obsessed with it – I finished the first season in a day. Yep.

So yeah, that is it for a normal day during the time I have school. When I’m on vacations, my schedule is so inconsistent that I can’t find a routine in them.

Hope you liked this! If you want more routines, let me know.
